Volleyball Recap: South Lancaster Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bartlett on Monday, South Lancaster Academy came back down to earth. The Crusaders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southbridge Pioneers on Wednesday. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

While South Lancaster Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Southbridge work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 25-20.

South Lancaster Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Southbridge, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Looking ahead, South Lancaster Academy will face off against Leominster at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Southbridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
