Volleyball Recap: Umatilla Beats Wildwood for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Umatilla had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Wildwood Wildcats as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Tuesday.

One reason for the win was Umatilla's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 25-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Umatilla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paityn McAuliffe, who had 12 digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave McAuliffe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samantha Merrill, who had 20 digs and two assists.

Umatilla's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Wildwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Umatilla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against South Lake on the 2nd. Wildwood has also already played their next matchup (against Zephyrhills Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
