Basketball Recap: Como-Pickton Takes a Loss

Como-Pickton lost against Cumby back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Como-Pickton Eagles lost to the Cumby Trojans at home by a 68-49 margin. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Cumby to victory were Chett Vaughan and Chayton Vaughan. Chett went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 32 points, while Chayton went 7 of 11 en route to 16 points along with six assists and three steals. Chett's evening made it 23 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of MontgoMery BENTON, who posted eight points.

Como-Pickton's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Cumby, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-11.

Como-Pickton will challenge Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cumby, they will face off against Boles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.
