Basketball Recap: North Marion Snaps 13-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely North Marion's strategy against Crystal River on Wednesday. The North Marion Colts enjoyed a cozy 57-42 win over the Crystal River Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-32 last Monday.

North Marion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JAMEYA BROWN led the charge by going 7 of 16 on her way to 17 points along with five assists and three steals. JERMEA JACKSON was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

When it comes to explaining why Crystal River lost, don't look at Angel Hughes. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Hughes a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidian Cordero Santana, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and five boards.

North Marion's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Crystal River, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-6.
