The biggest upset of the week belonged to Valley Center, who took down 180th ranked Valley Center, 42-38. Ryan Ortiz in the win.

Orange Glen moved up to 484 from 545 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley. The Patriots were able to make move up by defeating the Jaguars 42-38.

Mt. Carmel's dynamic duo of Kory Fox and Tevin Malone proved tough for Del Norte to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fox threw for 102 yards and one touchdown and Malone had 68 yards receiving. Nicholas Guzman helped Mt. Carmel's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.

Mark Gallant was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 244 yards on 26 carries as the Nighthawks lost to the Nighthawks. Teammate George Liang added to the ground attack by rushing for 43 yards.

Anthony Toia made the biggest impact on defense this week as Del Norte bested Mt. Carmel. The 5-foot-11 senior grabbed one interception.

5-foot-10 quarterback Drew Olson of San Marcos is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1659. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Leigh Cole's team's Gallant has rushed for 815 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malone. The Mt. Carmel star has 20 catches for 549 yards.

The Nighthawks and John Anderson's team played the most hotly contested game in Valley this week, with the Nighthawks eventually emerging with a 24-20 victory. Gallant in the win.
