Azle came tearing into Saturday's game with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Ryan Raiders by a score of 2-0.
Azle easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-17.
Jacqueline McClain paced Azle's offense, picking up three kills. McClain got some help from Miley Massey and her four assists. McClain was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Despite the loss, Ryan still got an impressive performance from Abigail Vasquez, who had 15 digs. Vasquez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. Jadyn Ward also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Azle's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Ryan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Azle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against North Forney on the 16th. As for Ryan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Creekview on the 19th.
