Baseball Game Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. Everett Alvarez Eagles

The North Salinas Vikings will face off against the Everett Alvarez Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in North Salinas' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Everett Alvarez has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

North Salinas' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Pajaro Valley as they made off with a 15-0 victory.

The team relied heavily on Josh Degroodt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. North Salinas is undefeated when Degroodt posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Gabriel, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

North Salinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pajaro Valley only posted an OBP of .444.

Meanwhile, Everett Alvarez came up short against Greenfield on Thursday and fell 6-1.

Everett Alvarez saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roman Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Everett Alvarez's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for North Salinas, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

North Salinas skirted past Everett Alvarez 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
