Baylor and McCallie are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Red Raiders will host the Blue Tornado at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Baylor is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Baylor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Bowling Green, who was ranked 12th in their home state at the time (Baylor was ranked 21st). The Red Raiders were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Purples on Friday. Considering the Red Raiders have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Miller Brock looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Camden Cloud was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Lundy, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, McCallie lost 10-4 to Farragut on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Tornado in their meetings with the Admirals: they've now lost five in a row.
McCallie also got a good showing from Mason Carver, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, McCallie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Stonecipher, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Baylor pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for McCallie, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
Baylor came out on top in a nail-biter against McCallie in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Red Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Tornado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
