Basketball Recap: East Juniata Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Juniata can now relate to. They took a blow against the Northwest Area Rangers on Wednesday, falling 55-26. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

East Juniata lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Wrett Smith, who posted ten points and six boards. That was a full 38.5% of East Juniata's points, marking the eighth time in a row Smith has had more than a third of the team's points. Jaiden May was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

East Juniata's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Northwest Area, their victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3.

East Juniata does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwest Area, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-45 win against Sayre on the 22nd.
