Preview: Gentry Rams vs. Greenville Hornets

The Gentry Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Greenville Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Gentry and five for Greenville.

Gentry suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. Their tough 73-47 loss to Edwards might stick with them for a while.

Meanwhile, Greenville had to suffer through a rough 67-33 loss at the hands of Cleveland Central. Greenville has not had much luck with Cleveland Central recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Greenville had strong showings from Gymanuel Wells, who scored 17 points along with two steals, and Tamarion Rhodes, who scored ten points. Wells continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Gentry has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Greenville, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-10.

Gentry was able to grind out a solid win over Greenville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 69-60. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Greenville's Le'Kinton McNeil Jr, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Gentry to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
