Basketball Recap: Antioch Comes Up Short

After flying high against North Chicago last Friday, Antioch came back down to earth. The Antioch Sequoits were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 49-48 to the Wauconda Bulldogs. The Sequoits haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Several Sequoits players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tess Delao, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Delao a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Heidi Rathmann, who put up 13 points.

Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Wauconda, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Antioch will venture away from home to square off against Grayslake Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th. As for Wauconda, they will take on Grayslake North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
