Basketball Game Preview: Anson Tigers vs. Stamford Bulldogs

Anson and Stamford are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Anson Tigers will take on the Stamford Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Anson is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Anson challenged Albany on Tuesday. Anson fell to Albany 47-43.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-33, which was the final score in Stamford's tilt against Cisco on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1622nd, while the Loboes are ranked 662nd).

Stamford's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Anson, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Anson strolled past Stamford when the teams last played back in January by a score of 45-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Anson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
