If Granbury was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Mansfield Summit last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Granbury Pirates fell just short of the Memorial Mavericks by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Caden Sudderth was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Levi Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Granbury's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Granbury will be playing in front of their home fans against Timber Creek at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Memorial, they will be taking part in a tournament against Brewer at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
