Basketball Game Preview: Tottenville Pirates vs. Xaverian Clippers

The Tottenville Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Xaverian Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tottenville will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Tottenville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Port Richmond, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly five points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Xaverian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Far Rockaway 77-30. Given the Clippers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Seahorses are ranked 639th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tottenville's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Xaverian, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
