Basketball Game Preview: Bear River Bears vs. Logan Grizzlies

Bear River is 1-9 against Logan since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Bear River Bears and the Logan Grizzlies will meet for a tough Bear Battle. Logan took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bear River, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Bear River turned things around against Mountain Crest on Friday. They walked away with a 58-49 victory over the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Logan played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Ridgeline 59-32. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Riverhawks are ranked 23rd).

Bear River will need focus on slowing down Ethan Woolley, one of several Logan players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points. Reed Olsen was another key player, putting up five points and 17 rebounds.

Bear River's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Logan, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Bear River strolled past Logan in their previous matchup last Wednesday by a score of 63-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bear River since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
