Softball Recap: Smoky Valley Comes Up Short

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Hesston Swathers. On the bright side, the two- run performance marked the Vikings' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Smoky Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenzley Haxton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Rylie Tolle also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Smoky Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hesston, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Smoky Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-6 victory against Hillsboro on the 11th. As for Hesston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against Larned on the 11th.
