Softball Recap: Sprayberry Takes a Loss

Sprayberry lost against Sequoyah back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 8-6.

Shona Bowen made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Sarah Long, who went 2-for-5 with three runs.

Sprayberry has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Sequoyah, they pushed their record up to 6-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Sprayberry and Sequoyah will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Yellow Jackets see the field they'll take on Woodstock at 5:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Sequoyah, their break will end when they face Milton at 5:00 p.m. on the 29th.
