Baseball Recap: South Pittsburg's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Signal Mountain, South Pittsburg was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They never let the Chattanooga Central Pounders get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Jace Stone was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Kaden Baker also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

South Pittsburg's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Chattanooga Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

South Pittsburg is facing Lookout Valley at the right time seeing as Lookout Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Chattanooga Central, they have already played their next contest, a 15-4 loss against McMinn Central on the 8th.
