Baseball Recap: Stratford's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Stratford has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.35 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They lost 10-2 to the Rouse Raiders. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

With the defeat, Stratford broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Rouse, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season.

Stratford is taking a road trip to challenge Cypress Creek at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Creek has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.7 runs per game on average), something Stratford will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rouse, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McNeil at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rouse's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so McNeil's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
