Tyson Wurzer Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, University Prep got the W thanks in part to Tyson Wurzer playing the best football he has all season. Wurzer rushed for 234 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 154 or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

The win was the third in a row for University Prep, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Wurzer and University Prep will head out to square off against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dowan Stephens Has Career-Day on Friday

Lassen was led to victory by Dowan Stephens, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Stephens rushed for 186 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards.

On the season, Stephens has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 129.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 14.5 rushing yards per game.

Raby Posts Huge Game in 35-8 Defeat

Anderson had to settle for second on Friday, but Alias Raby sure wasn't going down easily. Despite the loss, Raby was still balling out as he forced a fumble and made 12 total tackles.

On the season, Raby has averaged 9.3 total tackles per game.

Aj Johnson Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Aj Johnson of Central Valley. Johnson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Central Valley is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. It'll be Battle of the Birds when Falcons faces off against West Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
