Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

While Newark Memorial's win against Irvington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars skirted past the Vikings 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Newark Memorial was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (114-113), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-22, 28-26, 23-25, 18-16.

Newark Memorial's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camille Walker, who had 19 digs. Those 19 digs gave Walker a new career-high.

Newark Memorial's win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Irvington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
