Softball Recap: Edgerton Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Edgerton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Janesville Parker Vikings.

Brenna Callmer spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Edgerton's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Kahl, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Edgerton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Janesville Parker, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Edgerton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 defeat against Cambridge on the 18th. As for Janesville Parker, they will face off against Janesville Craig at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
