Basketball Recap: Kearsley Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Kearsley was the 61-57 winner over Swartz Creek when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Kearsley Hornets took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Swartz Creek Dragons.

Despite the defeat, Kearsley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Molly Gaudard posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Johnson, who scored 17 points.

Kearsley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Swartz Creek, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearsley will welcome Fenton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fenton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Kearsley surely won't give up without a fight. Swartz Creek has already played their next game (against Linden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
