Basketball Recap: Byan Mei Key Part of a Team Effort in Conquistadores Win

Del Valle's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lake View Chiefs 64-62. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Conquistadores considering their 28-point performance the game before.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Del Valle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Byan Mei, who posted 17 points and five steals. What's more, Mei also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2023. Jayden Nunez was another key player, going 8 for 14 on his way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Del Valle now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Lake View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Del Valle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-45 win against El Paso on the 6th. As for Lake View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-43 loss against Canyon on the 6th.
