Softball Game Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Henryville Hornets

The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will square off against the Henryville Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Lutheran has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Henryville will come in with five straight wins.

It was a proper cat-fight when Trinity Lutheran faced off against Jennings County on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Panthers, falling 12-1.

Meanwhile, Henryville got themselves on the board against Eastern on Monday, but Eastern never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Musketeers.

Emma McAfee was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

McAfee wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cheyenne Dobbs, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Dobbs' first of the season.

Henryville pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
