Mendenhall got themselves on the board against Quitman on Thursday, but Quitman never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 14-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by eight runs or more this season.
Mendenhall got a massive performance out of Tatum Berry, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Berry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Fewell, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-2.
The win (which was Mendenhall's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Quitman, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
Mendenhall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-1 defeat against Northeast Jones on the 1st. As for Quitman, they have also already played their next game, a 14-9 loss against Southeast Lauderdale on the 1st.
