Recap: Rocky Bayou Christian Knights vs. L.E.A.D. Academy Lions
If the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights were feeling good off their 42-21 takedown of the Destin Sharks last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rocky Bayou Christian took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of L.E.A.D. Academy on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that Rocky Bayou Christian let down their fans at home.
L.E.A.D. Academy found their leader in underclassman Sophia Harold, who scored 18 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Harold scored 15 or more points. Kamryn Lay was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Rocky Bayou Christian's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Bayou Christian will challenge Baker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baker and Rocky Bayou Christian are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Gulf Pointe Latin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gulf Pointe Latin will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
