Soccer Game Preview: Ridgeland vs. Saltillo

Ridgeland is 0-4 against Saltillo since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Titans will challenge the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Ridgeland has given up an average of 3.6 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ridgeland fell victim to Florence and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Ridgeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Florence are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Saltillo ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Tupelo 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Saltillo were the better team in the second half.

Saltillo is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 108 goals over those 15 matches. As for Ridgeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13-3.

Ridgeland suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Saltillo in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
