Softball Recap: Schaumburg Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Schaumburg never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Hoffman Estates Hawks 18-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Saxons considering their one-run performance the game before.

Madison Linnemann made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Dolecki, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madyson Meyer, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

Schaumburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Schaumburg's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Hoffman Estates, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Schaumburg has already played their next match, a 10-3 defeat against Palatine on the 30th. As for Hoffman Estates, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-6 loss against Fremd on the 30th.
