Heritage Christian snaps five-game streak of wins at home

Recap: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. Lapel Bulldogs

The Heritage Christian Eagles fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Lapel Bulldogs on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 72-64 to the Bulldogs. It was the first time this season that Heritage Christian let down their fans at home.

Loss or not, Heritage Christian got some senior leadership from Cole Louden and Luke Peters. Louden dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Peters. dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Louden has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Landon Schnippel, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Lapel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bode Judge out in front who scored 29 points. Judge is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Brode B judge, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.

Heritage Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-6. As for Lapel, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Heritage Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Roncalli at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Heritage Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lapel, they will be playing at home against Shenandoah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shenandoah is coming into the contest with five straight wins on the road, so Lapel is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
