Softball Recap: South Side Rams vs. Shenango Wildcats
It was a good run, but South Side unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 8-3 to the Shenango Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to South Side of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2018.
For Shenango's part, Brianna Aluisia and Kennedi Lynn made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Aluisia tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Meanwhile, Lynn tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive pitching appearances. South Side's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Shenango, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
