Basketball Recap: Mandeville Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Mandeville extended their home winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Alanna Benoit. Everything went the Mandeville Skippers' way against the French Settlement Lions on Tuesday as the Mandeville Skippers made off with a 54-34 victory thanks in part to Benoit, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mandeville's points.

Another player making a difference was Taylor Galiano, who posted five points and six rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in November of 2023.

Mandeville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for French Settlement, they moved to 20-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mandeville will welcome Ponchatoula at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for French Settlement, they will host Amite at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
