Softball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

Marion and Lytle squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Marion had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 4-2. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Marion saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Luna, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Luna has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 18-7-3. As for Lytle, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-13-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marion beat the Pirates by a score of 11-1 later that day.
