Baseball Game Recap: Morton Potters vs. Dunlap Eagles

Morton extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 19-11 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-0 to the Dunlap Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Monday.

As for Dunlap, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Dunlap's part, the team relied heavily on Davis Weeks, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Simon Malcolm, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dunlap beat Morton by a score of 5-2 later that day.
