Softball Recap: Wells Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Seven must be Wells's lucky number: they beat Pyramid Lake with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Leopards came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 7-4. The win was nothing new for the Leopards as they're now sitting on three straight.

Aryanna Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Wells let Jitzel Rivas and Adriana Aguilar run wild. Rivas went 1-for-2 with three RBI, while Aguilar earned one run and four stolen bases. That's the most RBI Rivas has posted over her last 13 matchups.

Wells' victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Pyramid Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Wells will take on Round Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pyramid Lake, they will challenge Pahranagat Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Lakers surely won't give up without a fight.
