Volleyball Recap: Santiago Takes a Loss

Santiago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Savanna Rebels. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Savanna found their leader in freshman Arden Pheng, who had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance gave Pheng a new career-high in aces.

Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Savanna, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coincidentally, Santiago and Savanna will both be playing Estancia the next time they take the court. Savanna will head out to face Estancia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Santiago will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
