Basketball Recap: Clinton Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Clinton Christian Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against Plaza Heights Christian Academy, falling 60-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since February 8, 2024.

Clinton Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Lowe, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Plumb, who had five points.

Luke Jones was his usual excellent self, putting up 17 points in addition to six assists and six steals for Plaza Heights Christian Academy. The game was Jones' sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Remi Schieber, who earned eight points and six steals.

Clinton Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

Coming up, Clinton Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against El Dorado Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. El Dorado Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Clinton Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Bethel Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Plaza Heights Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Bethel Academy likes a good challenge.
