Basketball Game Preview: Caston Comets vs. Peru Tigers

The Caston Comets will face off against the Peru Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Peru took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Caston, who comes in off a win.

Caston took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-46 win over Rochester. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Peru came up short against Oak Hill on Friday and fell 53-44.

Caston will need to focus on slowing down Addie Robbins, one of several Peru players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 13 points along with six boards and six steals. Robbins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Gatliff, who earned 13 points.

The victory got Caston back to even at 1-1. As for Peru, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Caston couldn't quite get it done against Peru when the teams last played back in December of 2024 as they fell 44-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Robbins, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 21 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.
