Basketball Recap: Olivia Berzai's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Indianapolis Bishop Chatard over Cathedral

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard suffered their closest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Cathedral Fighting Irish by a score of 48-45. The Trojans were up 45-11 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Berzai, who went 8 of 12 on her way to 19 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Berzai also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anna Caskey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards.

Jaeda Wilson was a one-woman wrecking crew for Cathedral as she went 6 for 14 en route to 20 points. Caroline Wiggins was another key player, putting up six points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cathedral, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
