After flying high against Ridge View on Monday, West Monona came back down to earth. The Spartans fell just short of the Kingsley-Pierson Panthers by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

West Monona's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Kingsley-Pierson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Coincidentally, West Monona and Kingsley-Pierson will both be playing Lawton-Bronson the next time they take the field. The Spartans will host the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
