Football Recap: University Starts off Right with Win over Sebastian River

University had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They secured a 16-10 W over the Sebastian River Sharks. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Titans were the (much) better team in the second half.

Christian Maheu was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 191 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 63 yards on only seven carries. A healthy portion of Maheu's aerial production (96 yards to be exact) went to Magnum Rojas.

Despite the defeat, Sebastian River had strong showings from Jamiey Parker, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one score, and Colton McMann, who threw for 184 yards and one touchdown. Parker's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will take on Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sebastian River, they will square off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
