Baseball Recap: Gretna Wins Going Away Against Standing Bear

Gretna's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Standing Bear Grizzlies with a sharp 10-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dragons needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Hudson Schwartzkopf tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Bryce Lakers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Gretna: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Carson Dicken was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Gretna's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Standing Bear, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Gretna wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Elkhorn on the 15th. As for Standing Bear, they have also already played their next game, a 6-2 victory against Columbus on the 19th.
