Basketball Recap: Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders vs. Stephenville FAITH Knights
After flying high against Ranger last Friday, Azle Christian came back down to earth. The Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders were beaten by the Stephenville FAITH Knights 52-25 on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-21 back in November of 2024.
Stephenville FAITH got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bailey Necessary out in front who went 6 of 7 en route to 12 points and three blocks. That's the most blocks Necessary has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Charlsey Cole, who posted 12 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.
Azle Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Stephenville FAITH, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Community Christian the next time they take the court. Stephenville FAITH will host Community Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Azle Christian will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th.
