Basketball Recap: Tampa Prep Takes a Loss

Tampa Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a blow against the Steinbrenner Warriors, falling 66-18. While losing is never fun, the Terrapins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Warriors are ranked 70th).

Leading Steinbrenner to victory were Samantha Coble and Sarah Coble. Samantha went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points and six steals, while Sarah went 8 for 17 on her way to 17 points and five assists. Sarah has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aria Parker, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Tampa Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Steinbrenner, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

Tampa Prep has already played their next matchup, a 34-29 loss against Gaither on the 13th. As for Steinbrenner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-28 win against Jefferson on the 14th.
