Franklin Monroe barely beat Houston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Franklin Monroe's pitcher stepped up to hand Houston a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. With that win, the Jets brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
The result came thanks to Brandt Filbrun's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Franklin Monroe got a big performance out of Nathan Fenstermaker, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Fenstermaker a new career-high. Chase Stebbins was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Franklin Monroe's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.
Looking ahead, Franklin Monroe will face off against Fort Recovery at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Houston, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Fort Loramie at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
