Soccer Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Highland

Highland and Tooele's match on Friday was close at halftime, but Highland turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. The Highland Rams were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Tooele Buffaloes. Even though the Rams got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Ian McCandless was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Nahom Gala was the driving force of Highland's attack as he scored all three of Highland's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

The win (which was Highland's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Tooele, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Highland will head out on the road to challenge Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tooele, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 victory against Cottonwood on the 10th.
