Basketball Recap: Caleb Wells' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lawrence Central over Carmel

Lawrence Central lost against Carmel back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bears took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Wells, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Doron Harris, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 19 points.

Lawrence Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Carmel, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence Central will square off against Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Carmel, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Noblesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
