Baseball Recap: De La Salle Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

De La Salle won the last time they faced Chicago Washington and things went their way on Thursday too. De La Salle walked away with a 6-2 victory over Chicago Washington. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Meteors.

Oisin Curry looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

At the plate, Francisco Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jenaro Negron, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

De La Salle pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chicago Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, De La Salle will take on St. Laurence at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Laurence's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so De La Salle's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chicago Washington, they will face off against Hancock at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
