St. Vincent de Paul had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Contra Costa Christian Cougars as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on four straight dating back to last season.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Vincent de Paul took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9, 25-13.
Sam Sarlatte paced St. Vincent de Paul's offense, picking up six kills. Sarlatte got some help from Johana Stone and her 13 assists.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Vincent de Paul will challenge Credo on Friday. As for Contra Costa Christian, they will face off against Bentley at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
