Basketball Game Preview: Paris Eagles vs. Mansfield Tigers

The Paris Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Mansfield Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Paris was able to grind out a solid win over Lavaca, taking the game 47-38.

Meanwhile, Mansfield had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.4 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers 49-20. Mansfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Mansfield's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Paris, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Paris suffered a grim 57-35 defeat to Mansfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Paris avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
